KEEPING YOUR JEWELRY LOOKING BEAUTIFUL
Jewelry:
- Remove your jewelry before doing rough manual work or playing sports. Stones, and even diamonds, could be jarred loose or chipped by a hard blow.
- At least once a year, have your jewelry cleaned and inspected. This only takes a few minutes and is a complimentary service.
- to clean your jewelry at home, use a solution of warm water, mild dish detergent, and ammonia. A toothbrush may be used to clean your gems and diamonds.
Pearls:
- Do not clean your pearls with the solution mentioned above or place in an ultrasonic cleaner. You may use a weak solution of mild dish detergent and water, rinse thoroughly, and lay flat or hang to dry.
- Keep your pearls away from hair spray, lotion, or perfume. Most chemicals will damage the pearls.
- Have your pearls re-strung when the knots start to look frayed or when the pearls move too much between the knots.
